The Ocean Blue shrimp is still fairly new to the US. Originating in Germany from one of the early "Steel Blue" strains, the Ocean Blue line started in 2016 when a single shrimp in the breeder's tank displayed an unusual dark blue shimmer. He selectively paired it with others from the same strain, gradually refining the line until the now-distinctive dark blue coloration emerged. The shrimp’s striking appearance resembles the deep blue of the ocean, inspiring its name. Over time, the pattern of the Ocean Blue Taitibee shrimp was established, featuring a blue bolt like head and a deep blue body. This shrimp represents the culmination of years of breeding effort, and even more exciting variations are on the way.
You'll receive a random scoop of shrimp. They will be 1/4" - 3/4" and mostly juvenile shrimps as the young ones adapt better to new waters.
