Add a vibrant splash of emerald green to your freshwater aquarium with our Green Jade Neocaridina Shrimp. Known for their bold color and natural algae-eating behavior, these shrimp are a fantastic addition to any tank. They thrive in planted aquariums, working as a natural clean-up crew by scavenging biofilm, algae, and decaying plant matter. Whether you're new to shrimp-keeping or a seasoned hobbyist, the Green Jade Shrimp is a low-maintenance and easy-to-care-for species.
Key Features:
- Bright Emerald Green Color: Green Jade Shrimp are named for their deep, vibrant green coloring, which stands out beautifully against dark substrates and planted aquariums.
- Ideal for Clean-Up Crews: These shrimp are excellent scavengers, helping keep your tank clean by feeding on algae, biofilm, and organic waste.
- Peaceful & Social: Green Jade Shrimp are non-aggressive, making them ideal for community tanks. They love to be in groups, so we recommend a minimum of 5 shrimp per order.

Care & Tank Setup:
Green Jade Neocaridina Shrimp are ideal for freshwater aquariums with well-maintained water parameters. They thrive in planted tanks with a moderate temperature range and moderate to soft water hardness. To ensure these shrimp reach their full potential, add them to established tanks with stable water conditions.
- Tank Size: Minimum 5 gallons
- Recommended Tank Setup: A heavily planted aquarium with live plants like java moss or Anubias to provide hiding spots and a source of biofilm.
Breeding Green Jade Shrimp:
Green Jade Shrimp breed readily in comfortable conditions, making them a joy to keep and propagate. Ensure you have both male and female shrimp in your tank for successful breeding. Once they reach maturity, females will carry eggs and hatch tiny shrimp fry, which will feed on biofilm and decaying matter in your tank.

Came healthy but theyre more blue than green
Some are almost black, but i can see green when i put the light up to most of them. Nice colorations, but all 11 I received were darker than pictured. (They sent me an extra!)
Thanks so much for the review! Green Jades are notorious for taking a while to acclimate to new tanks and get their color back. If you aren't happy after a week of them in your tank please reach out!
Bought a green one, got blue/black instead? Will give benifit of the doubt, the two colors are similar, and its still different from the other shrimp I have, so I’m fine with it.
Edit: upon further inspection, he is actually just a really, REALLY dark green! So thats my bad, 10/10! 😅
Thanks for the review! Jades can really take a while to get their green back after shipping, if it's still too dark let me know and we can work something out!
